On one of our days in Seward Alaska we decided to hit one of the local trails for some riding. The trail was named Lost Lake and it was recommended to us by the Seward Bike Shop. Props to them for pointing us to this trail.

The trail is part of a network of trails running the length of the Kenai Peninsula. It starts just north of Seward and is twelve miles up and back with an elevation gain of 1800 feet. In other wards, it’s up hill for six miles then super nar fast down hill for the other six.

Sue was originally going to drop me off at the trailhead and go into town to poke around but decided to hike a bit of the trail. She ended up hiking the entire twelve miles and as a result we have a beautifully photographic journal of the trail I ended up riding twice in three days.

I’m not going to say any more about the trail. I’ll let Sue’s photos do the talking. Enjoy.

Great photos! You both look like you were having a great time. Good for you Susan that you were brave enough to try it and made it to the top. I'm so proud of you. And Jeremy biked it twice, way to go Jeremy!! Safe and happy trails - Love, mom.

Sick looking trail. So much nicer to climb for ever, hate it, and then have a super long DH run. Here it is up for 2 mins, down for 30 secs, up for 2 mins and so on. Keep up the riding and telling, at least I can ride vicariously through you. I think you just stoked me into getting off my ass and going out for a ride!

Forbes - glad I could stoke you into getting off your ass :)

Hey Jer and Sue, About an hour after my last post I wound up at Durham Forest for the first time. After a couple of really big climbs I was rolling around on twisty, fun singletrack for the next hour. Probably the best place to ride that I have been. Yesterday Ange and I went to the cottage for the day and I found about 30-40k of singletrack. The 2k of it that I walked was all rideable. Looks like we have a few rides to plan for next season. Hope you guys are doing well. Forbes P.S. next time take the bike Sue, at least it is easier on the way down!

Dave - that's awesome man. Glad to hear the blog stoked you into finding new trails. Looking forward to hittin' those with you. I've found that climbing up makes you earn and really appreciate the downhill sections. And it's even better if you're climbing up the same section you'll be riding down so you can do a bit of studying. That's funny that you mention Sue not taking her bike - she was kicking herself the whole way down :) But if she hadn't walked we wouldn't have all these stellar pics either.

Geez, you guys are making such progress. I totally LOVE all the photos. How will you ever be able to stay in one place for any length of time after a trip like this?? Or will that not ever happen after this? ;-)

Hey Guys, where are you???? Eight days and no updates? Hope everything is going well, other than the free WiFi hunt, which apparently sucks right now. Ange and I are doing well. I just moved into the CRU on Monday. I have the bike course next week so that I am allowed to ride, although they assure me that I have passed already and it is just a formality. Phew, that takes a lot of pressure off. Anyway, I am looking foreword to that. Bella is over thirty pounds now, and getting bigger. Nothing else new really. Just about to have dinner and then try the new Wolfenstien for 360. Cheers, take care guys. Forbes

Hey everyone, thanks for all the comments. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We ran into some bus trouble but all is good now. No worries. We should be back on the road tomorrow. More hair and scary than ever before - Uncle Jer
